Evolve Then

In April 2002, I launched Evolve Counseling as a part time practice, working with just a handful of clients each week and maintaining fulltime employment. Private practice had always been one of my goals, and this was a significant step toward attaining that. In March 2004, Evolve Counseling and Coaching moved into an office in downtown Phoenix, and the practice and myself began our own growth and transformational process. Then in December 2004, fulltime private practice became a reality as I assumed an established practice from a local counselor who was moving away from Phoenix.

Evolve Now

Since Evolve began, I have continued to develop the practice and myself to better serve the needs of my clients. Evolve Counseling and Coaching now offers a variety of services that allow clients to customize their counseling and coaching experience. One of the most exciting changes has been moving into a new, central Phoenix location, and adding new counselors to the practice. Evolve now has both male and female counselors available, so that clients have the opportunity to choose a counselor with whom they feel most comfortable.

While Evolve has always emphasized serving the needs of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning community, I believe that having a diversified practice, both in clients and services, offers the greatest benefit to my clients and my own personal and professional growth. It is important to me that Evolve, and the practitioners who work with me, maintain a culture that is open and affirming to everyone. I believe that we are all here to grow and learn in our own unique ways, and I believe that Evolve offers opportunities to further that growth.

In addition to working with clients, I also supervise Licensed Associate Counselors (LAC), counselors gaining the experience and supervision required for full licensure as Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC). These counselors have completed their education and have met the initial qualifications to practice as a counselor in the State of Arizona, while working under the supervision of a licensed counselor. Evolve In the Future

It has been a wonderful and gratifying experience to see how Evolve itself, has evolved. Seeing so many of my initial goals become reality has provided even more excitement and motivation to keep moving forward. I look forward to working with many new clients and helping them to achieve their own personal goals, and also relieve many of the difficult situations that we must all confront in life. In the future I hope to work with more coaching clients, and help them to set and achieve rewarding goals for themselves. As the practice continues to grow, I will look for opportunities to work with other associate counselors as they begin their own careers working in the counseling field. I also look forward to implementing the use of technology as a means to work with clients and provide added convenience, but also to reach clients who would have otherwise been unable or unwilling to explore counseling and coaching as resources for their lives.
